Guest was a prominent figure in American high society, known for her impeccable style and taste. She was an accom- plished writer and garden designer and was often featured in society pages and fashion magazines. Villa Artemis, the estate where the photograph was taken, was a sprawling property located on the oceanfront in Palm Beach, Florida. Villa Artemis was designed in 1916 for Frederick and Amy Phipps Guest by architect F. Burrall Hoffman. The estate was known for its stun- ning gardens, which were designed by C.Z. Guest herself, and for its elegant interiors, which were decorated with a mix of antique and contemporary furnishings.The overall effect of the photograph is one of timeless beauty and sophistication, with every detail carefully curated to create a sense of effortless elegance.

Over the course of fifty years, he built a personal collection of more than 15,000 vintage garments while desig- ning for legendary opera and cinema stars. Dino Trappetti took over control of Sartoria Tirelli and the collection upon Umber-to’s death in 1990.The photograph captures the essence of Italian culture, with its emphasis on food, wine, and socializing. It also reflects the beauty and glamour of Capri, a destination favored by the rich and famous for its stunning scenery, luxurious accommodations, and relaxed lifestyle. The terrace where the photograph was taken overlooks the stunning coastline of Capri. Behind them are the iconic Faraglioni rocks.
